Across our community, many young people carry enormous potential but lack the means to unlock it. At Mosaic Vineyard, we believe deeply that every person has a God-given place in the world (everybody gets to play) and that discipleship is not only spiritual formation, but the practical shaping of real lives, real skills and real futures.

The Yard Collection, one of our businesses, exists at this intersection: a space where creativity, craftsmanship, and Kingdom values come together to transform lives. Through our tailoring apprenticeship program, we have been equipping young women and men, many from a poor or vulnerable background, with professional training, mentoring and a pathway into dignified and sustainable work.

The Apprenticeship Program

Our training is intentionally high-quality, structured and hands-on. Apprentices learn technical tailoring skills, quality standards, customer service and the disciplines needed to operate at a professional level. We aim to set the standard for tailoring excellence in Ghana and build a business that is innovative, ethical and proudly Ghanaian.

But beyond the skills, we are investing in people. We create a safe, grace-filled community where they are discipled, encouraged, prayed for and supported as they grow. We believe God’s kingdom brings wholeness: in work, in identity, and in opportunity. This program is one expression of that vision.

Why This Graduation Matters

This graduation is more than a ceremony. It is the first step into a new future for every apprentice who has walked this journey. Many came to us with significant need: unable to afford schooling, equipment or any of the costs associated with learning a trade. Yet they have persevered, learned, thrived and are now ready to step confidently into their own livelihood.

We are incredibly proud of them. And now we want to give them the strongest possible start.

The Startup Pack Initiative

Some graduates may choose to work for an existing business. Other may be interested in launching their own business as a tailor. For this option, each graduate needs a basic set of tools: a sewing machine, starter materials, and essential equipment. These items become their business, allowing them to begin earning immediately and stand confidently on their own. Ideally, we also want to provide self-employed graduates with a temporary place to work while they find their footing, build confidence, and begin growing their own customer base. It is envisaged that this place will be suitable for future graduates as they roll-out of the programme, as a kind of half-way house while they work towards being financially self-sufficient.

How much will it cost?

An individual Startup Pack costs approximately 5,750 GHC (£380)

Rental of the workspace costs 15,000 GHC (£990)

By sponsoring an apprentice with a Startup Pack, you are not only giving tools—you are giving dignity, income, and long-term stability. You are placing something in someone’s hands that cannot be taken from them: a skill and a means of making a living.

100% of your gift will go directly to the graduates. We will not retain any amount for administration or programme costs.
